Evaporative Coolers: Replacement Parts

Evaporative coolers operate on the simple principle of water evaporation. Consequently, the unit itself operates pretty simply as well. While evaporative coolers are built to last for many years of service, occasionally they need a little attention.

The first point of reference should be the unit’s owner’s manual. The manual contains all of the technical information about the evaporative cooler unit, including detailed drawings of the unit’s parts and replacement parts list.

Smaller parts, like screws or fasteners, can be readily located at local hardware stores. Belts, pulleys, and even pumps can usually be found at the hardware store, too. The owner’s manual will give you the specifics on sizes, horsepower, and other details.

More specialized parts and accessories, such as control modules, blower wheels, drain kits, floats, and more, can be purchased online here. A list of retail partners is available from this page, if you want to shop in person.

Do not forget the media! Keeping clean media pads installed, whether using Aspen or rigid media, is vital. The media pads are the heart of the evaporative cooler. Clean pads mean more efficiency.
